Child Nutrition Services
Healthy eating is an important life skill.
We at Child Nutrition Services Department know that providing children nutritious and well balanced food helps children grow, develop, and do well in school. We are proud to support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition.
The Child Nutrition Services staff consists of approximately 50 employees who work to provide students a variety of diverse and appealing foods that contribute to the health and welfare of our students. We currently serve close to 7,000 lunches daily with menu planning emphasizing consideration of the United States Dietary Guidelines which include lowering the levels of fat, cholesterol, sodium and sugar in the diet.
Our purpose is to serve students safe, well-balanced and satisfying meals which are fairly priced and meet current state and federal nutrition guidelines.
Our vision is to promote the health of students not only by providing them with nourishment but to educate them with the skills necessary to make healthy choices now and throughout life, supported by an integrated approach including partnerships with agriculture, food, media, education and health communities.
